Hi Ed118,
Thanks for joining the thread. Are you using the QuickBooks Desktop version for US or Canada? If so, I would recommend reaching out directly to the Desktop Support team. That way, they can further check your account. Also, just a heads up that you've reached the Community page for QuickBooks Online Australia region. My resources is currently limited to the Australian version right now.
Here's also the link for the US QuickBooks Community where you can get answers to QuickBooks questions and find tips from experts: Ask the Community.
Post again if you have other concerns about QuickBooks Online Australia. Thank you and have a great rest of the day!
Reinstalling QB won't fix it, you need to find these files and remove them or at least disable them from your windows startup programs folder (run TaskManager, Startup Tab)
The files you want to look for below, mine were in:
Users/Public/Documents/Windows and
Users/Public/Documents/Intuit
look for:
90s.rtf
err.html
QuickbooksDownloader.exe
IntuitDownloadManager.exe
Hi jbd2022,
Thanks for sharing these tips for other QuickBooks Desktop users. However, just a heads up you've reached the Community forum for QuickBooks Online Australia region. If you're using the QuickBooks Desktop version in Australia, In Australia the desktop version is called Reckon Account. If you're looking for Desktop Support I highly suggest contacting the Reckon Department. For assistance, please contact Reckon at https://www.reckon.com/au/contact-us/ or by calling 1800 732 566. As much as I love to help you on this, however my tools and access are limited on this kind of account. The best department to reach out is the Reckon department.
If you're using the QuickBooks Desktop version for USA, please use this link to reach out support Ask the Community.
Post again in the Community if you have QuickBooks Online concerns. Thank you so much and have a great rest of the day!
Hello jbd2022 and everybody,
thanks a lot for your advices and given directions. the problem seems to be resolved or at least disabled.
corrupted files were found in:
users/public/ libraries:
-err.html fake warning sign and real scammers phone number
-QBD.exe same as IntuitDownloadManager.exe. or QuickbooksDownloader.exe publisher name: Solanki Piyushkumar, not intuit.outlook.com. disabled in end tasks and then deleted from file folder.
-90s.rtf looks like an license agreement, however removed
hope its helpful.
appreciate your help.
cheers.
Ed
