I am having problems inviting my accountant to our file. It keeps wanting me to log in my QB account again, but when I do this nothing happens? Why is this happening?

Hi switchedonbookke,

There could be a number of reasons as to why this might be happening.

Firstly, here are the steps to replicate in order to invite the accountant to the file:

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Online as a primary admin.
  2. Go to Settings ⚙ and select Manage users.
  3. Select the Accounting firms tab.
  4. Select Invite.
  5. Enter your accountant's info and select Save.

If they still can't connect, there may be a web browser issue. Ask them to open the invite manually:

  1. Open the invite email.
  2. Right-click the Accept Invitation link and copy the web address.
  3. Open a new private web browser. In Google Chrome, this is called an Incognito Window. For other browsers, it's a Private Window or Private Browser.
  4. Right-click the address bar and paste the copied web address.

This opens the sign-in page manually.

Sometimes, it could be the invitation itself. In this case delete the original invite then re-send a new one:

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Online as a primary admin.
  2. Go to Settings ⚙ and select Manage users.
  3. Select the Accounting firms tab.
  4. Look for your accountant firm.
  5. In the Action column, select the small arrow ▼ icon and then Delete. If they see any duplicate invites, also delete those.
  6. Follow the steps outlined above to invite the accountant user again with a new invitation.

I've outlined a few things you can try, let us know how you go from there.

Kristian.
