I keep getting an error saying my bank feed us now outdated on all my files including ones that have direct feeds?

Hi ked1,

This isn't necessarily an error message but more of a pop-up message to get users to switch to Direct Feeds and reinforce the idea that Direct Feeds are the best kind of connection you can get with your Financial Institution on Quickbooks Online.

This is terrible and confusing. Are my bank feeds working or not?

Hello Daniella1,

Thanks for posting in the Community. Are you getting any prompts saying your bank account is in error or shows not updated in QuickBooks Online? If so, let's perform some troubleshooting steps to isolate the situation. Here's how:

  1. Click on the Transactions or Banking tab.
  2. Select on the bank account affected.
  3. Click on the Update button.

If your bank account is connected via Standard feeds, let's update the sign in information. Here's how:

  1. Click on the Transactions or Banking tab.
  2. Select the bank account, and click on the pencil icon.
  3. Click on Edit sign in information.
  4. Enter your bank's log in details manually.
  5. Click on Update and follow the prompts.

Then, check if the bank account updates after. If the bank feeds are still not working. Let's log in to your bank's website and check if there's no ongoing maintenance. If you can log in to your bank's website, please check the following:

  1. Check your account for messages, alerts and notifications needing your attention.
  2. Check for bank's website for any security notification requirements.
  3. Check for display for changes, display and authorisation issues. These can stop QuickBooks from downloading new transactions.
  4. Check if there's no change on your BSB and account number.

If you've verified all of the above and the bank feeds are still not working. We'd recommend contacting our Customer Care Team to help check your bank connection in a secure form as this is a public space.

In the mean, you have the option to manually upload any missing transactions in QuickBooks Online. You can check this article to learn more on the process: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online.

As always you can post again in the Community if you have additional questions about your bank feeds in QuickBooks Online. We're here to help you.
