Is it possible for an accountant to steal / defraud by giving them access to a Quickbooks account?

Hi,

I was wondering if it was risky giving an unknown accountant/bookkeeper access to a quickbooks account?

Are they able to setup new payments / transfers, etc and transfer money out?

Could they use the info inside for identity theft, etc?

Thanks

Glad to see you again, @learningthisstuff.

Giving accountant access provides a user with the option to navigate the program or the company data without any limitations. They are capable of adding, modifying, and deleting transactions in the account.

That being said, we always recommend inviting someone you already know or was recommended to you. It’s best to check with accounting firms credible to assist and provide great service.

If you need any assistance working in the program or have questions regarding our services, let me know. I’m always here to help. Have a great day!
