Is it possible to get a report that lists the bank deposits for a date range (sales receipt, deposits, invoices etc)

You can run the Recent Transactions report. This will allow you to customise a report based on custom date range and use the Group by drop-down menu to categorise the data based on Transaction Type on the left-hand side.
You can then click on the Customise button on the right-hand side and further drill down on the types of deposits you want to see in the report, by selecting the Filter drop-down menu.
