I have tired all these suggestions and none of them work.
Also, when I contacted Quickbooks a few days ago, I was told this is an issue other are facing and QB is working on it. I still have not heard back from anyone.
I appreciate the efforts you've made to resolve this. I can add info about the ongoing investigation regarding the problem with PayPal transactions and error 185.
We're currently investigating the issue of being unable to connect PayPal transactions to QuickBooks Online (QBO) and receiving error 185. We don't have an exact timeframe for when this will resolved. However, our investigation team is working hard to fix this issue and receive email updates when available.
Although you've already contacted our support team, feel free to contact them again for updates on the ongoing investigation if you want to.
In the meantime, I'd recommend manually uploading bank transactions as a workaround.
Moreover, you can utilize this article to learn how to create bank rules so that transactions from your bank will be automatically categorised: Set up bank rules to categorise online banking transactions in QBO.

This error appeared to me in July and it has still not been resolved. Unacceptable for accounting software!
Hi EcoWSPC,
I understand you are having fundamental issues with your PayPal bank connection in QuickBooks Online. The error you've reported with Unable to connect PayPal account due to an error 185/187 is a reported product investigation. Our banking team is still working with the PayPal provider to check the root cause of the bank feed connection and is actively finding a resolution.
As a workaround, I recommend to manually upload transactions using a CSV file to add your bank transactions and be updated in QuickBooks Online.
Drop a commend below if you have further concerns about QBO. I'll be around to help you.
The verbiage you used is correct, it is a "Fundamental issue" for accounting software.
QB is not a beta version of a free up and coming software but a paid subscription service for an established platform. The solution to your clients should not be - 'just upload it manually until we figure it out, if and when we get to it'.
This issue has dragged on for 2 months now, and shows a complete lack of consideration for QB client base. Unacceptable.
I second the above sentiments. It's outrageous that as paying customers we should be required to do anything of this nature manually. QB needs to compensate customers as we are not getting what we paid for.
Yes, it's been months now, with no resolution in sight, which is ridiculous for a paid service. Sort it out Intuit!
I understand the frustrations and challenges you have with this issue, accounts503,

I third this statement!!
On another note, PayPal within QuickBooks since around June/July, now doesn't automatically change the currencies. So when I'm paid in one currency, and PayPal converts it, QB use to import the right amount e.g. USD $20 to AUD $30, and show $30 AUD and $30AUD automatically leaving the account. But now it shows USD$20 and AUD$30 which is a right pain in the behind. I might add for any QB employee looking at this, yes I have tried manually importing, and it doesn't fix the problem.
As another commenter mentioned, this is not a beta.. I've actually now seriously considered moving to an equivalent software. I'm genuinely in the last 1-2 weeks before I may do.
And you know what, I also got a "QB prices have increased"... A kick in the family jewels
I want to ensure that we take this matter seriously, @dadadale. Let me direct you to our appropriate support team to investigate this issue further.
