No longer able to put in a negative rate to apply discounts in Self-Employed iOS app

Hello

For years I've been able to use a negative rate in for products and services to apply a discount on invoices for my customers. I think maybe with the last update on iOS, the Self-Employed app no longer allows me to put negative values in the "Rate" field. It prompts me to "Enter a valid amount" and won't allow me to add the product or service. Strangely, I'm still able to add negative values on the Self-Employed website.

Anyone have a similar issue? Is there a better workaround than having to use the website?

Cheers

No longer able to put in a negative rate to apply discounts in Self-Employed iOS app

Hello there, @PhilipSoliman.

I'll share some information why you're no longer be able to add negative value using your mobile device. Then, I'll show you how to correct this strange behavior.

A full cache can sometimes create performance issues in the QuickBooks Mobile App. This could possibly be why you are no longer able to add negative values in the Rate field. To resolve this, I recommend following some basic troubleshooting techniques.

On your iOS device, follow these steps:

  1. Go to your phone Settings.
  2. Tap Apps and Notifications.
  3. Look for the QuickBooks Self-Employed app.
  4. Select Reset App Data.

If the same thing happens, you can uninstall and reinstall the app. Also, you can use the supported browser on both web and mobile devices: System requirements for QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Please review the articles below to learn more about about the features available in the QuickBooks Self-Employed web version:
