pay event warning for closely held employee "The Payer Period Totals tuple must be provided" How can I fix this?

Hi JW001,

Thanks for posting in the Community!

Once you've set up your payroll and before you begin lodging pay events under STP Phase 2, please ensure you have created and lodged an Update Event so the ATO can validate the data that will be transitioned over to STP Phase 2.

  1. Select Employees from the left-hand menu.
  2. Select the Reports tab.
  3. Select Single Touch Payroll (found under the ATO Reporting column).
  4. Select the Create Update Event button.
  5. Select the appropriate Financial Year and Pay Schedule, then select Create.

All list of all employees related to that pay schedule will appear on the screen along with their year-to-date payroll details.

I would like to share with you this article for your future reference: Lodge Single Touch Payroll (STP) events for closely held employees

Hi,

Thank you for your response - however I had read and done all that and I am still receiving the error.  What else can I try?

Hello JW001,

There are several factors with the error you're getting, one is a 0 pay event is lodged or a standing authority is needed before you can lodge the pay event. To better assist you, I'd recommend reaching out to our Customer Care Team. That way, one of our support can take a look on your payroll account and the pay event you're trying to lodge in a secure form.

Here's how to contact support:

  1. Click on the Help icon in QuickBooks Online.
