I am getting this error when trying to import transactions from Square app and am unsure how to rectify.
"We couldn't Add the transaction(s) due to "Uncaught in complete callback". Check account mapping in advanced settings and try again."
The error message ist exactly helpful and offers no insight to the issue, at least from my POV
Welcome to the Community space, @njer. The error you're encountering occurs due to a mapping mismatch between QuickBooks and Square.
This issue can be caused by incorrect mapping settings, such as an account being deleted in QuickBooks or Square attempting to send data to a category that QuickBooks no longer recognizes.
Since the error specifically mentions account mapping, I recommend checking the mapping settings in both your Square app and QuickBooks. Look for any fields that are blank or highlighted in red. Ensure that the Deposit Account (where the net cash goes) and the Expense Account (for Square fees) are both active accounts in your Chart of Accounts, as this could be the source of the error.
If you've recently cleaned up your Chart of Accounts, you might have archived an account that Square was previously using. Please check your Chart of Accounts and verify if any account utilized by Square, such as "Square Income" or "Square Fees," is marked as inactive. You'll need to reactivate this account or update the mapping to a new account to resolve the error.
If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to revisit this thread.
Thanks for the reply, i have checked all accounts and none are inactive. Which means it is likely a category mapping error? where can i find the mapping settings in quickbooks?or is there a way to quickly identify which line item is causing the error
Hi there, @njer. QuickBooks functions solely based on the data sent from Square. If a Square transaction includes specific details or preferences that haven't been set up in QuickBooks yet, the system won't recognize them, which will trigger an import error.
With that being said, I recommend reviewing your Advanced settings in QBO. It will ensure that the necessary categories are turned on to allow Square entries to flow into your QuickBooks.
