Hi. I can't upload any attachments to transactions in my bank feed? I've always worked this way but when I click "Add attachment",nothing happens. Any idea how to fix it?

I've on a MAC using Chrome. I've tried a different browse (Safari) and tried using the incognito window but still have the same issue.

Hi. I can't upload any attachments to transactions in my bank feed? I've always worked this way but when I click "Add attachment",nothing happens. Any idea how to fix it?

We appreciate all the troubleshooting steps that you've done on your end, and we apologize for the inconvenience caused. Let me share other steps so you can upload any attachments to transactions in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Since you've mentioned that you've already tried using different browsers like Chrome and Safari on a Mac, let's try using Firefox when uploading attachments to transactions. Here's how:

  1. Log in to your QBO account in Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P.
  2. Go to the Transactions tab and select Bank Transaction.
  3. Open your desired transaction.
  4. Click Add Attachment.
  5. Choose the document you want to attach.
  6. Click Open, then Save and Close.

Also, you can add attachments directly to the specific transaction by going to the Sales or Expenses tab:

  1.  If it's a sales transaction, go to the Sales tab and select All Sales.
  2. Select the desired transaction and click Edit.
  3. At the lower part of the transaction, click on Attachments.
  4. Choose the document to attach.
  5. Click Save and Close.

If it's an expense transaction, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Expenses tab.
  2. Select the specific transaction.
  3. At the lower part of the transaction, click on Attachments.
  4. Choose the document to attach.
  5. Click Save and Close.

These are the transactions that support attachments:

  • Bills
  • Cheques
  • Credit Card
  • Adjustment Note
  • Customers
  • Delayed Charge
  • Quotes
  • Expenses
  • Invoices
  • Receive Payments
  • Refund Receipt
  • Sales Receipt
  • Suppliers
  • Supplier Credit

Please note that we can't attach PDF files to statements sent to customers as of now.
