How to enter share dividend received

We can record the multiple dividends received using an equity account and name it dividends. You can create multiple dividends account or just put them to one account. Here's how to create a new dividend account in your chart of accounts:

1. Click on the Transactions tab.
2. Click on Chart of accounts.
3. Click on New.
4. Under Account and Detail type, choose Owners equity.
5. Enter a Name like Dividends or how you want to show them on your report.
6. Click on Save and Close.

Also, since we are not accounting experts it is best to consult your accountant on how best to record the dividends you have received from several shares.
