Hi ntresize,

Thanks for posting in the Community!

When you say reverse a pay run, are you referring to deleting or undoing the pay run in QuickBooks Online? If you have not processed any super payments for the pay run, you can unlock and re-finalise the pay run and then delete it. If you have processed a super payment, you can create an ad hoc pay run to offset the earnings.

Here's how to unlock and delete a pay run:

  1. Click on the Payroll tab and click on Pay Runs.
  2. Locate and open the pay run created.
  3. Click on Pay Run Actions and click on Unlock.
  4. Enter a comment as to why you wanted to unlock or reverse the pay run.
  5. Click on Unlock.

Once done, you could click on Delete pay run if you wanted to remove or if this pay run should not be reported.

  1. Select Payroll from the left-hand menu.
  2. Select Pay Runs and then select the Pay Run you wish to unlock.
  3. Select Delete Pay Run then select Delete

If you have processed a super payment and cannot unlock the pay run, you can use the steps in this link to create an adhoc pay run. On the earnings you can enter a negative figure to offset the amount from the original pay run.
