Hi
Busy with finalisation event. Taxable earnings does not balance to the Gross to net Report, nor to the Employee Payment report. The discrepancy seems to be an allowance. This allowance should be taxable and is for all other employees, just not for this employee. For some reason it is not pulling through in the finalisation event.
Where can I go to see if the settings for the staff member is correct. I have already checked the payroll settings for the organisation and that is correct. Is there a way the payroll officer could have accidentally overrriden the settings of being taxable or any other reason the STP finalisation event is not picking it up?
Hello MarindaBurger,
Welcome to Intuit Community.
To check on your employee set up, you may go to Employees tab then click on the name of the employee. This will route you to the Employee settings.
You can also pull up a Payroll Tax Report that provides a breakdown of earnings and super that are subject to payroll tax and payroll tax exempt. For a detailed information you may check on this Payroll Tax Report – Payroll Support (AU) (yourpayroll.com.au).
I hope this helps. Thanks for stopping by.

Hi,
Thank you so much for your response. I have checked Employee Settings, but I am unclear to see if there is anything in there that can override the payment of one allowance to only one staff member. Why did QBO treat it differently if all settings are the same? Where can I look to find it? It pulls in correctly on the pay run and all other reports, but just not on the finalisation event for this specific staff member. Any assistance will be welcomed.
Regards,
Marinda
Hi Miranda,
With Gross to Net Report, only data from finalised pay runs will be included in the report.
An employee who's not been paid any earnings in the financial year you're finalising will also not show up in the finalisation event.
