How do I fix quickbooks when the payroll journal fails to export?

After you've finalised your pay run the payroll journals should be automatically exported to the QuickBooks Online chart of accounts. Let me guide you on how you can manually export the payroll journals to QuickBooks Online.

1. Click on the Employees tab, and then select Pay Runs.
2. Select and open the pay run affected.
3. Locate and select the Export to QuickBooks button.

A prompt will show that the payroll journals have successfully exported to QuickBooks Online. Then, you can also check in your QuickBooks Online Chart of accounts to confirm if the payroll journals are showing.

If the issue persists, you'll have to check your Payroll Chart of account is fully set up. Here's how to check:

1. Click on the Employees tab.
2. Click on Payroll Settings tab, and click on Chart of Accounts.
3. Click on Default accounts.

Then, check if all fields and account is completely set up.
