Is it possible to setup a child support deduction to be paid automatically included and paid with the wages aba file each week?

Hi Christine,

Thanks for posting in the Community!

When you set up child support deductions and wanted to pay this deduction directly into another bank account, via the ABA file from the pay run, you will need to set up the employee's bank account and set the Amount to pay as Fixed and $0. Here's how to add child support deduction on the pay run:

  1. Click on the employee name.
  2. Click on Pay run inclusions.
  3. Click on Add.
  4. Select the appropriate Deduction category.
  5. Enter deduction amount to be applied per pay run and set it to Fixed amount.
  6. Select id to paid manually or to a bank account,
  7. Enter the Payment reference number.
  8. Complete the set up and click on Save.

To pay this deduction to another bank account via the ABA file from the pay run:

  1. Click on the Payroll tab.
  2. Click on the employee name from the employee list.
  3. Click on Bank accounts.
  4. Select the Account type and enter other information needed like name and customer reference number.
  5. Under Pay into account set it to $ and amount is $0.00.
  6. Click on Save.

Once done, try to process a dummy pay run and check if the ABA file includes the child support deduction.
