Yes, you can change add, edit, or inactivate accounts in your Chart of Accounts. To add, just click the New button in the upper-right hand corner.
To edit or make them inactive, click the drop-down list beside View Register or Run Report, then select Edit or Make Inactive.
Also, please take note that there are default and special accounts that can't be deleted or inactivated. This includes Retained Earnings, Undeposited Funds, and Opening Balance Equity. See this article for more details: How To Manage Default And Special Accounts In The Chart of Accounts.
