I have added account to Chart of accounts but they do not show on Profit and loss statement

Thank you for reaching out on this. 

This would depends what kind of Chart of Account you have added. Based on my limited accounting knowledge, Profit or Loss would only show Income and Expense accounts. Asset, liability and revenue accounts would show in Balance Sheet. 

I would also encourage you working with your accountant on this.

If you want to see all the accounts relevant to the Profit and loss statement move to the profit and loss report > Report header section >  Show non-zero or active only dropdown menu > Show rows click the Radio button for All
