QuickReport Account Error

Hi

In Chart of Accounts, when I choose "Run Report", the Account field in the resulting QuickReport regularly comes up in Red at the top of the report. It shows me the last 90 days correctly but, if change any filter and click "Run Report" all transactions for all accounts are shown. VERY frustrating.

Two long chat sessions with Intuit customer support have not been able to resolve the issue. An Engineer apparently resolved "no issue" and there is no further escalation path. No one suggested that there was a configuration problem at my end.

Does anyone else have this problem?

Steps to reproduce:

- Accounting in the LH menu.

- Choose the "Chart of Accounts" tab at the top.

- Choose an account that has sub-accounts and click "Run Report" on the RHS

- See that the "Change account" box and the account name is Red.

- Click run "Run Report" button.

- See that the report now lists all transactions for all accounts.

Thanks

Steve

QuickReport Account Error

Hi sedge,

Thanks for posting in the Community! I can see that this issue has been raised before and our engineers determined that this is working as designed. We appreciate if you share your concerns or ideas with our Product Developer Team. This way, they'll know how useful this feature is for your business and consider this in future updates. Here's how to send a feedback:

  1. Click on the Gear icon in the upper right hand corner.
  2. Select Feedback.
  3. Enter your feedback or product suggestion and submit.

As a workaround, after running the report navigate to Customise button, under Filter, untick Distribution Account and then re-apply the filter on Distribution Account by selecting the account and Run report.

Feel free to post again if you have any other questions. Have a nice day!

QuickReport Account Error

Thanks.

Yes, I left feedback via that channel. Will someone act on it and get back to me?

Two days after the last support call about this problem Intuit sent a "How did we do?" email. When I tried to respond two days later, the response was not accepted because the time had expired.

The workaround is not a satisfactory solution. It is very time consuming. In my 30+ years experience as a software developer, a workaround was something we provided while a real solution was being sought. I would never have considered a workaround as a permanent solution.

Thanks for sending your feedback. I cannot assure that this will be fixed soon but I have already sent a feedback to our product engineers so they can review this suggestion to enhance this feature to QuickBooks Online in the next update. You can also check here the new features for QuickBooks we release every month.

Let me know if you have any other questions.
