For gst paid to custom for overseas purchases , how to record to claim back the gst.

Glad to see you here in the Community, @angela38.

Recording the GST paid overseas can be tracked in QuickBooks in just a few clicks. You've got me here to guide you on how to achieve this goal.

You can record the payment by following these steps below:

  1. From the left menu, select Taxes.
  2. Refer to the Payments tab.
  3. Click on Record payment and this will be for the filing period on which you wish to record payment.
  4. Select the name of the bank account used at the top.
  5. Enter the payment date and the amount before saving.
  6. Press on Save and close.

This way, the payment that you made will be included in your return.

To help you in filing your return, I'm adding here are links that you can check out on how to perform the process together with the frequently asked questions for GST in QuickBooks Online:

If there's anything else that I can assist you with, let me know. I'll be around to lend a helping hand. Have a lovely week ahead!
