My account is new. I forgot to activate my multi-currency and so my bank accounts are all in SGD instead of their respective currencies. How to delete the accounts?

That's easy, info880.

Before we delete them, we can get a list of all bank accounts we've created as our reference in entering them again. Just go to the Chart of Accounts page and at the upper-right, click Run report. We can export the report or take a screenshot of it.

Also, we can't totally delete the bank accounts we created but we can inactivate them. Here's how to do that:

  1. Still in the Chart of Accounts page.
  2. Under the ACTION column of bank, click the View register drop-down.
  3. Click Make inactive
  4. Select Yes to confirm.

Just a heads up, we won't be able to turn off this feature once it has been turned on. I'll show you how to turn it on:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and click Account and Settings.
  2. From the Advanced menu, click Currency
  3. Select the Multicurrency and the I understand I can’t undo Multicurrency checkbox.
  4. Click Save and then Done

Let's recreate the bank accounts like how we previously did it and then select their respective currencies

Reach out to me if you need anything else. Thanks for choosing QuickBooks!

Noted, but can I delete it totally as the account had no prior transactions? Inactive means it is still there so it is not so clean.

Hey there, info880.

Currently, we won't be able to delete the inactive accounts in QuickBooks Online. You can choose to Make the account Inactive to mark the account as deleted. Whenever you need the inactive account for your reference in the future, you can simply restore it.
