Currency in journal entry import file for Quickbooks Online

Hello there, Radha Rao.

The currency isn't included as one of the columns when importing journal entries. Thus, you'll have to enter them manually.

With QBO’s import feature, you can easily transfer/copy your accounting data. Just make sure to fill in the required columns such as DateAccount numberJournal codeDebit, and Credit to successfully execute the process. Here's how to import:

  1. From the Gear icon.
  2. Select Import Data.
  3. Choose Journal Entries.
  4. On the Download page, select Browse.
  5. Select your CSV or Excel file. Select Open, then Next.
  6. Map your information. Your Field represents the headers on your spreadsheet. From each small arrow icon, select the one that matches a field in QuickBooks Online.
  7. Select Next.
  8. Click Start import. If there’s an error, select Download and correct. Then, edit the file and try again.
  9. Select Done.
