Hello there, finance237.
In QuickBooks Online (QBO), you cannot void a journal entry. However, you do have the option to either delete the duplicate or create a reverse journal entry to address the duplication. Both methods let you keep your financial records accurate.
If a journal entry was created in error, you can delete it permanently. Ensure this action is necessary, as it may impact your account balances.
Here's how:
- Navigate to the Gear icon and select Chart of Accounts.

- Locate the account tied to the journal entry and select Account History.
- Find the journal entry in the register. Enter the word "Journal" in the Ref No. or Type column.

- Open the journal entry and select Delete.
- Confirm by selecting Yes.
If you need to offset a previous journal entry, you can reverse it. For more details, refer to this article: Reverse or delete a journal entry in QuickBooks Online.
