Which recurring transactions will show up in Quickbooks Planner?

I have set up several recurring transactions and have mapped certain items to a credit card and certain items to our checking account. However, when I filter the linked account to only include our checking account, I'm seeing all of the recurring expenses I've set up, including the ones that I've intentionally mapped to a credit card.

In the "filters", you can choose "Bills, Expenses, and Checks" (for example), so I figured would map credit card transactions to "Expenses" and checking account transactions to "Checks", which will allow me to filter out the credit card transactions from the planner. However, it doesn't appear like recurring transactions of type "Check" show up in the Planner. It appears that the only options for future "Money Out" transactions are "Expenses" or "Bills".

Is there something that I'm missing that will allow "Checks" to show up in the future transactions?

I appreciate what you've done so far, Spidurman30.

In QuickBooks Online (QBO), the option to allow recurring transactions to show in the planner isn't available for now. Especially if checks that have not yet been recorded in QuickBooks.

With this, I recommend sending feedback to our product developers. This way, they can further review which parts of the program need enhancements and consider adding them to future updates.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon, select Feedback.
  2. Enter your comments or product suggestions.
  3. Then select Next to submit feedback.

Once submitted, you can track your feature request through QBO Feature Requests website.

Furthermore, I'll add this article to help you review your accounts to ensure they match your bank and credit card statements: Reconcile an account in QBO.

I'll keep an eye out for your reply. If you have further questions about managing your planner or any QuickBooks-related concerns, feel free to include them in the comments. We're here to assist you 24/7.

Which recurring transactions will show up in Quickbooks Planner?

Thank you. Note that SOME recurring transactions do show up, such Bills, Expenses, and Sales Receipts. I've been able to capture those. However, not all recurring transaction types show up AND for the transaction types that do show up, the actual account they are assigned to is disregarded and they are all either included or excluded regardless of which bank accounts you select to be included in the planner.

Thanks for getting back to clarify the situation, @Spidurman30.

I see you managed to pull up the other recurring transactions except checks. In the meantime, let's check and perform basic troubleshooting if it's a browser issue. Browser cache and cookies can get corrupted, leading to problems with website access or file opening.

Let's start by accessing using an Incognito/private window or other supported browsers to prevent saving browser history. Refer to the appropriate keyboard shortcuts for your browser type:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

If the private browsing session works, clear the browser's cache so the system can restart. Clearing the cache will reboot the system, allowing you to work with clearing the stocked cache and cookies causing the issues.

If the issue persists, I recommend contacting our Technical Support for further investigation in a secure environment and help find a fix.

Here’s how:

  1. Go to the Help menu.
  2. Select the Search tab, then click Contact Us.
  3. Enter your issue and concern in the field.
  4. Click Continue.
  5. Tap the Chat or Callback option.

In addition, I'll add this article to assist you in identifying your bank and credit card transactions: Categorise online bank transactions.

Please keep us posted if you have other questions about your recurring transactions. We'll do our best to help. Take care.
