Hi KurtKyle,
I had tested and the barcode scanner seems working well because there wasn't any issue for me to scan it in product listing. Search engine able to find all the barcode item which already added into list.
The scanning malfunction happened only when creating invoice function. The barcode which already in product listing wasn't able to retrieve data in "Product/Service" column under "Invoice".
The weird scenario is some barcode was able to search and input automatically. But 90% of items in my product list are not able run by scanner. ONLY manual typing works for search engine.
I'm using a customize invoice template for my company. Before this, I tried QB standard template in trial version, no issue for me to scan & search data in product list when issuing invoice.
Any other solution for this? In need support to solve this bugs.
Thank you for the additional information, @seline.
Let me share some troubleshooting steps to isolate this scanning malfunction issue. I'm determined to ensure you can automatically search and input data when creating an invoice.
Most common issues in QBO are usually a result of too much accumulated historical data. Whenever you visit a website, it saves some information from the web page in its cache and cookies. These files allow the websites you visit most often to load faster. Not to worry, clearing them will do the trick.
First, let's try accessing your account through an incognito window to rule out the possibility of a webpage issue. You can refer to these shortcut keys to open an incognito window in all supported browsers:
After logging in to QBO, try scanning again. If it works, I recommend clearing your browser's cache so you can access QuickBooks with a clean slate. You can also use a different supported browser.
Additionally, this article helps you spice up your sales forms by personalising and adding specific info: Customise Invoices, Estimates, and Sales Receipts.
Feel free to come back and share if you need further help. I'll stay around until you can run the scanner over all your items.
Hi Liera,
Thanks for your support.
Had followed the steps to clear the cache. Unfortunately, the scanning and input data when creating an invoice still not working.
I tried login in chrome, firefox, android and it is still not able to read the product name from my product list during invoicing.
It seems doesn't recognize the data and will prompt me to create a new item as inventory / non-inventory.
Any better ways that we can connect and troubleshoot it. I'm confident that barcode scanner is in working condition as all barcode data were found in product listing. It's not searchable only in creating invoice stage.
However, it doesn't mean all barcode are not searchable. After some try & error, most-to-most 10% of the item in product list were searchable and input automatically during invoicing. And it fall under same product category, barcode from other product category were not searchable during invoicing.
Test 1: Using Chrome, firefox, android
1) scan & search barcode from various product categories in product listing - normal
2) scan & search barcode in "product / service column" - malfunction, partially searchable
3) for non-searchable barcode, system will pop up to ask for create new item & choose inventory type.
Test 2: unpair barcode device & impair again
1) After unpair/impair repeat steps in test 1 - still some barcode search malfunction error
Test 3: clear cache
1) After clear cache & using incognito screen, repeat steps in test 1 - still some barcode search malfunction error
I tried to video my screen and wanted to show clearer scenario of what I'm facing but was unable to send here.
I hope there's some alternative solution to solve the error I'm facing.
Thanks.
