Hello, I have created a bank deposit, I click "save and close" but I don't find it in transactions. Please help! How can I import & categorise a transaction mannually ?

We can locate the deposit entry in your Account history, Andreas. Allow me to provide the specifics.

In QuickBooks Online, Account history allows you to track financial progress, analyze trends over time, verify the accuracy of reports, and manage finances more effectively.

Here's how:

  1. In the left menu, click Transactions
  2. Go to the Chart of Accounts tab.
  3. Locate the account you deposited the payment to and select Account history.
  4. Filter the Transaction type and click Deposit.
  5. Filter the Date and hit Apply.

On the other hand, to manually import your transactions we have to make sure to upload your CSV file with a correct format to ensure your financial records are updated. To do so, please follow the steps below:

  1. Navigate to the Transactions.
  2. Select Bank Transactions.
  3. Click on the dropdown arrow beside the Link account.
  4. Choose Upload from the file.
  5. Simply drag a file in the box.
  6. Hit Continue.
  7. Select an account for the bank file you want to upload then Continue.
  8. Kindly follow the steps to set up your file in QuickBooks.

After importing transactions, you can categorize them for accurate reporting and improves overall financial organization. You can also set up bank rules to automatically categorize transactions from your bank.

Moreover, I am including this resource to assist you in reconciling your accounts so they align with your bank and credit card statements: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Online.

We stand ready to support your exploration of these options. For any queries or additional assistance regarding your transactions in QuickBooks Online, please use this communication channel. We value your consideration and are enthusiastic about helping you elevate the QuickBooks user experience.
