I can imagine the situation you’re in right now @HUNTACE123.
I’m here to help and share with you some steps to isolate this issue. I recommend opening your QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) account on a private (incognito) window. This way, we can verify if this is a browser-related issue.
There are times that the browser is full of frequently access pages that helps load the page faster. When piled up, this causes issues that affect the performance of your account. Using a private window helps us verify if this is as this doesn’t save any cache file. To start, here are the keyboard shortcuts you can use in opening a private window:
- For Google Chrome browser, press keys: Ctrl + Shift + N
- For Mozilla Firefox browser, press keys: Ctrl + Shift + P
- For Safari browse, press keys: Command + Shift + N
From there, log in to your account and update your credit card to double-check. If you’re able to do so, I’d suggest clearing your regular browser's cache to fix this. If the issue persists, try using other supported browsers. That way, we can see and check if this is a browser-integrated issue.
Once you’re all set, you might want to check this article that can walk you through the steps in connecting your bank account to QBSE: Connect bank and credit card accounts to QuickBooks Self-Employed.
However, if you still wish to get in touch with our Support team, you can refer to the steps shared by college above in getting in touch with them.
If there’s anything else I can help you in updating your account, you can always tag me in your reply. I’ll be around to back you up. Have a good one and keep safe!

Hello, lambertandbarr.
I have just the step to help you change the primary user so you can access your company file.
Depending on your product, you can send a request to us to change the primary administrator. You'll be needing specific documents for us to verify and protect your company data before we change it.
You can fill out the request form from this article: Request to be the primary admin or contact.
If you're using QuickBooks Desktop UK instead, you'll want to contact our support agents. They can help you process the primary user change. If you can open the program:
- Go to Help, then select QuickBooks Desktop Help.
- Click Contact us at the bottom of the pop-up window.
- On the Contact us window, select a topic.
- Choose how you want to reach us.
If you can't open the program anymore, you can use this link to reach out to us: Contact QuickBooks Desktop support.
After changing the primary user, you can start working on your company file to fix the errors. If you need help, you can always select a topic and browse for an article in the general support page (change the product under Topics for).
You can always post a new thread in the Community space whenever you need help with something. My colleagues and I will respond to you as soon as possible.

I'll make sure you can change the phone number on your account with the active one, @Westbound Trucking.
Verifying your account when logging in is one of the security measures implemented by Intuit. Before updating your phone number, you'll have to reset your password in a supported web browser. Here's how:
- Go to the QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) Sign-in page.
- Click on Forgot your user ID or password under the Sign In button.
- Enter your email address under the Let's get you signed in page.
- Follow the rest of the instructions to complete the process.
I've attached a screenshot below that shows the second and third steps.
To know more about resetting your password in QBSE, you can check out this article: How can I reset my password?.
After that, you can log into the Intuit Account Manager page to change your phone number to the active one. For the step-by-step guide, here's how:
- Go to the Intuit Account Manager page.
- Enter your Email or User ID and click Sign In.
- Type in your Password and select Continue.
- Go to the Sign in & Security section.
- Click the Phone section.
- Select the Change link beside your old number.
- Enter your active phone number and then your Password.
- Select Save.
I've attached screenshots below that show the last five steps.
Also, to further guide you in managing your business's growth using QuickBooks, you can refer to this article: QuickBooks Help Articles. It includes topics about data security and banking, to name a few.
