Thanks for reaching out about creating credit memos. QuickBooks Online is a great tool able to help you keep track of invoices, payments and credits so you know the amount owed to you by your customers. I can provide some information about credits.
When creating a credit memo, there isn't the option to generate it directly from an invoice to not have to enter all the information wanted. You'll need to enter each line item you want to have in order to complete the credit memo. I can see that this would be a feature that you'd like to see in order to help with managing your customers, I recommend leaving Feedback in the system by clicking on the Gear icon, then Feedback. The Comments made in that section are taken into consideration when designing new features for QuickBooks Online.
