Disconnect an app and change subscription

Learn how to manage your subscriptions and apps in QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Online Accountant.

After you install apps, you can disconnect an app or do it for one of your clients. And if you need to cancel, or change subscription, you can do so from the Intuit App Centre. Here’s how.

Disconnect installed apps

If you're the user that connected the app

QuickBooks Online

  1. From the left menu, select Apps then My Apps.
  2. Select the Action ▼ dropdown menu, then Disconnect. Note: If you can't find Disconnect in the menu, select Settings, then locate the Disconnect button on the settings page.
  3. Complete the short questionnaire.
  4. Select Confirm Disconnect to remove the app from your company profile.

QuickBooks Online Accountant

  1. From the left menu, select Apps then Firm apps.
  2. Select the Action ▼ dropdown menu, then Disconnect. Note: If you can't find Disconnect in the menu, select Settings, then locate the Disconnect button on the settings page.
  3. Complete the short questionnaire.
  4. Select Disconnect  to remove the app from your company file.

If you're not the user that connected the app

Only QuickBooks Online Admin users can connect and manage apps for their company or firm. However, for QuickBooks Online Accountant Firms, only Firm owners can connect and manage apps for a client.

Switch Admin of the app connection

  1. From the left menu, select Apps.
  2. Search for the app you're interested in.
  3. Select  the app, then Get app now.
  4. Review the Authorisation page and select Connect.
  5. Review the message details and select Switch Admin.
  6. Adjust the settings as necessary.
  7. Make sure the app is now associated with your user ID.

After you switch admin, you can now disconnect the app using the same steps.

Cancel or change your app subscription

Here’s how to change an app subscription for an Intuit app or a third-party app

  1. Go to the app centre.
  2. Select My Account, next to Help.
  3. Choose the Manage App Subscriptions tab.
  4. Find the application you wish to cancel or change, then select the appropriate option (either cancel or change).

Request a refund

  1. Go to the app centre support desk and fill out the online form.
  2. In the Category dropdown, select Billing.
  3. In the Subject field, enter Refund.
  4. In the Description, you can include your company name, user name and a description of the subscription for which you need a refund.

Don't include your password, credit card number, PAN number, or other secure information.
