I am trying to subscribe but my bank is not listed

Do you need to open a new blank QBO account or renew one?

I am trying to subscribe but my bank is not listed

I'll help with your concern about Online Banking, birju-mehta.

There are a couple of reasons why a bank will not show when adding it in QuickBooks Online. These includes:

  • The bank has multiple names on our list. Make sure to try all possible links. You can also search for the bank using sign-in URL to ensure you are using the correct listing.
  • Not all types of accounts are supported (for example, personal accounts vs business accounts).
  • Your bank is not a participating financial institution.

You can follow these steps to help you locate the bank if it's a participating bank:

  • Verify the spelling. Make sure the spelling is exactly as it appears on your bank's website.
  • Use very specific names to search for your bank. If you still can't find anything, try broader names like "Citi."
  • Enter your bank's URL into the search. For example, search for "hsbc.com." for HSBC.
  • Search for the name of the issuing bank, meaning the bank that issued your bank card. You can find the issuing bank's name on the back of your card."Chase," "HSBC," or "Bank of America" should work, but "Visa" may be too generic.

You can also request support for the bank in case it's not a participating financial institution. Here's how:

  1. Go back to the Banking menu, then click Add account.
  2. Search for the name of your bank again. Then, you will see the message that says "Hmm, we can’t find [name of the bank you entered] in our list of supported banks," and you will be presented with helpful tips to try and locate your bank account.
  3. Click Request support for your bank.
  4. Enter your bank's web address (URL) in the field provided, then select Request.

In the meantime, you can import your banking transactions using a CSV file. Here's an article for more details: Manually Upload Transactions into QuickBooks Online.

Then, follow the steps in this article on how to handle the transactions: Categorise and Match Online Bank Transactions in QuickBooks Online.
