I have wrong date in my bank statement (already uploaded, cvs format) i.e 02/08/2012 instead of 08/02/2012 .It was discovered halfway to reconciliation. How to solve it?

Let me help you correct the wrong date in your bank statement when doing reconciliation, john_gomes.

We can edit the information by clicking Edit info on the reconciling page if you haven't completed the reconciliation by following these steps:

  1. On the left panel, click Accounting.
  2. Click the Reconcile tab.
  3. Choose the bank account from the Account drop-down list.
  4. Click the Resume reconciling button.
  5. Click the Edit Info button located in the upper right-hand corner.
  6. Change the Ending Balance and Ending Date.
  7. Click Save.

If it's finished, changing the Ending date is unavailable in QuickBooks Online (QBO). What we can do is leave the date as it is and just make sure to select the correct end date the next time you reconcile (an incorrect date doesn't affect any balances and will not prevent you from future reconciliation). You can also undo the reconciliation and then reconcile with the correct ending date. Let me show you how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon on the top menu.
  2. Choose Reconcile under "Tools."
  3. Select the Reconcile tab and then History by account
  4. Press History by account
  5. Select Account and Report Period
  6. From the drop-down arrow beside the View report, pick Undo
  7. Click Yes to confirm and then Undo.

For mo red details about this one, see Undo and remove transactions from reconciliations in QuickBooks Online article. Feel free to visit our Banking page for more insights about managing your bank transactions.

I hope that this response finds you with a smile. Keep me posted if you need a hand with running your financial reports or any QBO related. I'm always here to ensure your success.
