Can you adjust the beginning balance of your quick book in order to reconcile with your statement?

Hello there, mutisorede100-gm.

Yes, we can adjust the beginning balance of your account. Let me help and guide you through the steps.

Most beginning balance issues are caused by an incorrect opening balance. This is the account's starting point, which you chose when you first created it in QuickBooks. If you recently entered previous entries that are older than your opening balance, you must reconcile them using the methods in this article:  Reconcile transactions that are older than your opening balance in QuickBooks Online.

Now that your account has been reconciled, let's look at the opening balance. Here's how:

  1. In your company, head to the Bookkeeping or Accounting menu on the left panel and choose Chart of accounts.
  2. Look for the account you're working on from the list.
  3. Then, click the Account history link
  4. Search for the opening balance entry. It should have "Opening Balance Equity" in the Payee Account column and "Opening Balance" in the Memo column.ob.png
  5. Take note of the date and balance.

After that, follow Steps 2 through 3 in this article to fix the problem: Fix issues the first time you reconcile an account in QuickBooks Online. It also includes a link to the reconciliation process.
