If current bank doesn't have the option to connect to QBO, is it necessary to upload the bank transactions?

Upload bank feeds

Greetings, @Blanca Val.

Uploading bank transactions to QuickBooks Online (QBO) is the best option if your bank doesn’t connect to QBO. It’s also the method used if you wish to download older transactions from your bank. I’d be glad to guide you how.

  1. Sign in to your bank website and follow the instructions to download the transactions to your computer.
  2. Ensure the file format is in
    • Comma-Separated Values (CSV)
    • QuickBooks Online (QBO)
    • Quicken (QFX)
  3. Then go to the Transactions or Banking menu in your QBO account.
  4. Select Upload transactions
  5. Click Browse and select the file you’ve downloaded and click Next.
  6. Select an account you want to upload the transactions from the Account drop-down menu and click Next.
  7. Follow the onscreen instructions and select Let’s go when you’re ready.

You can also check this article for more details about the process: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online.

Additionally, you can send a request to support your bank. That way, you’ll be able to connect your bank account to your QBO account and automatically download your transactions. Here’s how:

  1. Go to the Banking or Transactions menu.
  2. Select Connect account.
  3. Type in the name of your bank from the search field and click Request support for your bank1.JPG

On top of this, let me share with you this article that can guide in reconciling your accounts accurately in the future: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Online.
