What is happening?
Note: Please note this article is for QuickBooks customers in Malaysia.
The Royal Malaysian Customs Department (RMCD) expanded the list of electronic services provided by non-resident suppliers subject to Sales and Services Tax (SST). As a result, Intuit Limited, providers of QuickBooks, is now a SST registered entity in Malaysia.
Starting on your next bill date on or after 01 March 2020, we will be required to collect 6% SST on all QuickBooks Online subscriptions. SST charges are collected by Intuit on behalf of the government and as such, should not be considered as a price increase.
