Does anyone successfully import a csv to QBO? I've tried many ways (formatting) as guided, but it keeps telling the file does not contain 3 columns date, memo, amount.

Hi nguyenduong375!

Let me assist you in importing the bank transactions.

There are two formats in using the CSV file. They are the 3 column format and the 4 column format. We need to make sure that these columns are included in the 3 column format:

  • Date
  • Description
  • Amount

Then, you need to select the correct field when mapping it. Please check these articles for the detailed steps:

You also want to perform some troubleshooting steps to fix any browser-related errors. Start by using an incognito window and import the file from there.

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl Shift + N
  • Safari 11 or newer: ⌘ Shift N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl Shift P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl Shift + P

If it works, you'll just need to clear the cache. Also, check if you're using an up-to-date browser.

Once everything is good, here's how to categorise and match online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.
