Customize invoice email template subject line with invoice date

I've edited the template email that goes out with invoices and the subject line by default includes parameter placeholders like [Invoice No] and [BALANCE_DUE] - I would like to include the invoice date in the subject line so my customers can see which delivery the invoice is for since I sometimes do multiple deliveries per week. I've tried [Invoice Date] [Invoice_Date] [due date] [duedate] [INVOICE_DATE] and many other combinations with no success. Anyone know how I can add this info to the email subject line?

Also, is there a master list somewhere with what placeholders can be used? This would be immensely helpful!

Customize invoice email template subject line with invoice date

Hello there, hillenhomestead.

Including the parameter placeholders for [Invoice No] and [BALANCE_DUE] would be great to add in the subject line. However, this option is unavailable in QuickBooks. The system only generates the [Invoice no.].

For now, I'd recommend sending your valuable suggestion to our product developers. They'll evaluate your idea and might add it to the product updates. Go to the Gear icon and select Feedback.

You'll want to visit our website page to find an application that can help you accomplish this: QuickBooks App

The other way around is to edit the Business name in the template. From there, you can include the invoice date and due date. However, we'll have to modify it every time you send an invoice.

Feel free to visit these articles. Each of them provides information about handling customer details and sales forms:

Thanks for your reply, however the [Invoice No.] and [BALANCE_DUE] fields DO correctly work and auto-populate in the email subject line currently, I've tested it several times. This is why I'm wondering what other fields I can use in this same way, including the invoice date.

I also want to know a list of the available variables.  i looked around and tried [Due Date]  but that doesn't

work.

Update:  found that [DUE_DATE] does work!

Thank you! Good to know about [DUE_DATE] - still really need to be able to include the date of the invoice rather than the due date so let me know if you find that one

But yes, a master list of all these would be so helpful. QB???

I appreciate you getting back to us, @hillenhomestead.

I understand that adding the date of the invoice rather than the due date is beneficial to you and your business. If you haven't yet, I suggest submitting feedback so our product engineers can review your suggestion and include the option in future updates.

Also, I'd like to redirect you to another Intuit forum called the Intuit Developer Forum regarding your concern about a master list. You can post your issue on the forum so someone can help you with it. It's a place where you can ask for help with integration and programming and get help from a number of programmers, developers, and experienced users.

Just in case you need more information about customising sales forms in QuickBooks Online, you can check out this article for more guidance: Customise invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.

Come back to this post if you have other concerns or follow-up questions about this. I'll be around to provide further assistance.

Are you able to tell me how you got this to work, because I can't get it to work.

it should send proper, it doesn't replace the fields until sent.  I used my own email as the address to send to so I could check it.
