I understand the importance of having the account numbers in the Chart of accounts, hero.
To add a number to your Chart of accounts and show them on reports and transactions, you’ll want to turn on the Enable account numbers and Show account numbers features in your Account and settings.

Once done, you can start assigning numbers to your account by following the steps below.
Please know that you can’t allocate the same account number to more than one account. Check out this reference to learn more: Use account numbers in your chart of accounts in QuickBooks Online.
