How do I delete the chart of accounts so I can import a new chart of accounts?

Hello, @tv9284440774.

I'm here to guide you in managing your chart of accounts.

Currently, the ability to directly delete an account from the Chart of Accounts is not available. You'd have to make the account inactive.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Settings ⚙.
  2. Select Chart of Accounts.
  3. Find the account you want to delete.

  4. From the Action ▼ dropdown, select Make inactive.
  5. Click Yes to the pop-up. FrequentFewFrilledlizard-size_restricted

Once you make an account inactive, it will no longer appear in your Chart of Accounts unless you check the inactive accounts in the settings.

On the other hand, I've got here a screenshot of the sample file format that you can use in the importing process.

Also, you can follow these steps to import your chart of account in QuickBooks.

  1. Click the Gear ⚙︎ icon at the top.
  2. Choose Import Data.
  3. Select Charts of Accounts.
  4. On the Import accounts page, click the Browse button.
  5. Find the Excel file to import, then select Open.
  6. Click Next to continue.
  7. Map your data, then click Next.
  8. The next page shows the accounts that are ready to be imported.
  9. Adjust your data if necessary, then click Import.
