Hi Balaji,
Welcome to QuickBooks Community!
Currently, QuickBooks is not compatible with line item wise Discount on Invoices. Discounts can be applied to the entire invoice amount. However, we will take this feedback and take it forward to our Product Development Team.
If you're facing this issue only in the mobile app, we request you to try using it on either your web browser or computer once.
Xero allows discounts to be applied to an individual item on invoice. Why will Quickbooks not offer the same feature?
I have a good news for you, @Planting.
The capability to assign discounts per line item in sales forms (invoices, sales receipts, and credit notes) has now been added in QuickBooks Online. It is in addition to each transaction level discount that was already available.
You'll need to enable the line-level or item-wise discount from an invoice in the system.
Here's a demonstration on how to do this:
To give you complete details on how to manage discounts on invoices, please refer to this link: Discount by line item on invoices and sales receipts.
I'm always up for further assistance if there's anything else that you need, @Planting. Just notify me by leaving a reply below. Keep safe!
I have followed the procedure described but I can't see the option item-wise discount. I only see discount which was already available.
Sylivia.
Thanks for joining this thread, @Sylivia.
It's our priority to ensure that you get the needed info when creating transactions in QuickBooks Online (QBO). To help you see the Item-wise discount option, let's check if it is enabled on your Accounts and Settings page. Here's how:
For more info about this, please see this article: Discount by line item on invoices and sales receipts.
Once done, create an invoice again. Then, follow the steps provided by my colleague, BettyJaneB to add the Item-wise discount column.
Then, to see a list of individuals or businesses that you've invoiced as well as the amount they need to pay, you can run the Open Invoice report. To do so, please refer to these steps:
If there is anything else I can do to further help you apply a discount on your invoice, please post a response below. I am always available to help in case you need it. Take care.
I have followed the procedure and I can only see total discount which was there before. I still can see item-wise discount.
