Thanks for checking in with us, anil9.

QuickBooks Online (QBO) International version does not have a payroll function inbuilt. To make entries of payment dues for salaries payable, we'll need to enter them as a prior payroll in the payroll system to reflect in the employee's records. Since this option is unavailable in QBO, we can enter them as journal entries to record the accounting information for your payroll. You can check out the Recording payroll transactions manually article for the steps and details.

You may check out a third-party application that helps your enter prior payroll data to QBO. Look for the apps that are compatible with QuickBooks at this link: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/app/apps/home/. We can also do it in QBO by following the steps below:

  1. Go to Apps on the left side menu.
  2. Search for the app in the Find apps to streamline your work field.
  3. Look for the app that supports the import payroll data feature.

Any questions about integrating the app into your Online account are best handled by the third-party app provider. On the other hand, to enter an opening balance for the bank, credit card, and other types of accounts, see the Enter an opening balance for an account in QuickBooks Online article for the steps and details.

Feel free to visit our Banking page for more insights about managing your bank transactions in QBO.
