Income line item created on chart of accounts not showing up as product/service option on invoices

I created a new income line item through the Accounting Module/Chart of Accounts in my chart of accounts - it is listed as a Sales of Product Income as the Detail Type.  When I go into my Sales module to create a new invoice, that new income line item is not showing up in the product/service drop down menu so I can select it.  I am using Quickbooks Online.  I have tried refreshing my QB and closing down/restarting.  Not sure what I am doing wrong to get it to update.

When you create invoices you only have the option to select a product or service instead of an account. You can create an item where you can associate the income account you created. 

 

Here's how to create an item:

 

  1. Log in to QuickBooks Online.
  2. From the left menu, click Sales and select Products and Services
  3. Click New at the upper-right.
  4. Select a type.
  5. Enter the details and under the Income Account, you can select the Sales of Product Income account you created.
  6. Click Save and close.

Then, you can create an invoice with the item. Any sale or income on that item will be posted to the income account.
