I have 3 custom fields set up on my invoice template, but they do not show up as options when importing invoices from a CSV file. Also, is there a way to import to the customer facing memo section instead of the internal memo only?
The feature of directly mapping custom fields when importing invoices isn't available in QuickBooks Online (QBO), @kk16. I've got a workaround for you.
QuickBooks Online (QBO) doesn't allow direct mapping to custom fields when you import invoices from CSV files using the standard import tools. You might need to input the data into these custom fields manually after your initial import. Meanwhile, by default, when you import invoices from a CSV file in QuickBooks Online, the memo information is directed to the internal memo field, not the customer-facing one.
Alternatively, you can consider using a third-party application that facilitates custom field mapping. There are a few apps in the QuickBooks App Store that enhance import functions and support this feature.
