Re: QBO Simple Start tells me "You and [name] were working on this at the same time. [name] finis...

Probably not resolved on user's side, as it is happening on my side as well. This is delaying the whole process as now you need to log out, log in, and try again. We do know "how to create invoices", "how to save an invoice" and all the basic recommendations given as a reply.

Why does the system error say "you and ... were working at the same time and ... finished first, so your work hasn't been saved" when there is only one user? This is impossible, so it is now actually scary.

As I am typing this, I get a pop-up saying "thank you for spending time on our website". I shouldn't have to.

I appreciate the details you have provided, @Scorpio Polygraphs. Let me clarify a few things so we can work together to manage users and ensure your invoice is saved in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

To start, I would like to clarify whether you're the only user operating the account, meaning you are the primary admin. Or are you an added user currently the only one logged in?

If you're the primary admin without any other users added, we can take some troubleshooting steps to help you regain access to Save your invoice. I recommend opening an incognito window in your browser to access QuickBooks with a clean slate. Depending on your browser, you can use the following shortcuts:

  • Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Option + P

If you can save the invoice, please return to your regular browser and clear the cache for a fresh start. Additionally, switching to other supported browsers could also be worth a shot.

On the other hand, if you're an added user, it’s possible that another user, like the admin, is also working on the same task. You will see the prompt when someone else is accessing the same invoice or doing similar actions. You can ask the other user to sign out and back in to see the updates.

In the meantime, you can refer to the Audit log to track the changes made in your books and review the details of any changes to restore anything if needed.

Once the invoices are sent to your customers, you'll start receiving payments. I'll provide you with these guidelines to assist you in recording them: Record invoice payments in QuickBooks Online.

I will monitor this thread if you have questions about user management and invoice handling in QBO. I'm here to help. Stay safe.
