Recipe capturing feature

Welcome to the QuickBooks Community! @Asad-Jumail. We’re thrilled to have you and thank you for posting your first inquiry here. It sounds like you’re asking about the receipt capture feature. If so, I’d be happy to walk you through how it works and provide more information.

To begin, please note that the Receipt snap feature is only available in specific regions, including the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, South Africa, Singapore, and Wisdomcountry through the QuickBooks Online (QBO) mobile app for iOS and Android devices.

Since a direct button for this feature is unavailable to the Global version of QBO, users can manually add or attach a receipt to an expense. Let's go over the process together.

If you want to attach a receipt to an existing expense, here's what to do:

  1. Open the QBO mobile app and go to the Menu ≡ icon.
  2. Hit the Expenses and choose the one you want to update.   image (49).png
  3. Select the Add notes or attachments button to attach a photo.  image (50).png
  4. Tap Photo to capture the receipt or Choose from Library to upload an existing image.
  5. Exit the screen. It'll be automatically saved.

To add an expense and attach a receipt simultaneously, here's how:

  1. Go back to the Menu ≡ icon and select Expenses.
  2. Create one and then fill in the required details.
  3. Hit the camera icon to take or attach a photo of your receipt.
  4. Once done, select Save

I'll also add this resource to guide you through this whole procedure: Attach receipts to expenses in the QBO mobile app.
