How can I create access for a role that only needs to create purchase orders please? My procurement colleague needs access for this purpose.

For segregation of duties reasons, I cannot allow Procurement to be able to alter accounting entries. they need to raise and issue Purchase orders to suppliers. how can this be done?

I'm here to help you figure out how to grant your colleague access.

QuickBooks allows you to select the user access rights when you assigned the standard user role. You can grant them full access, limited access.

A standard user role that is limited to Supplier and Purchases is ideal for assigning to a worker who needs access to Purchases.

Here's how:

Go to Settings, then Manage Users.
Tick the Standard user button and click Next.
Select Limited and check Supplier tick box.
From there, you'll be able to see what the user is capable of.
Hit Next, Select the name of the User.
Select User Settings, then Next.
Lastly, provide the User's info and hit Save.

Another option, consider having an inventory management app or a purchase order management app to integrate with QBO. You don't have to give any access to your QBO account.
