How do I add another credit card from the same bank? The card I have linked was cancelled due to fraud, and I cant work out how to bring in transactions on new card.

Hello there, Ljm317. Let's go through the steps to bring in your transactions to QuickBooks.

Before doing so, may i know if the cancelled account is a parent account or sub-account ? Please note that that we can only connect either one of these.

If the new credit card is for a different account, we can connect it on the banking page. However, the transactions from the old (cancelled) account won't show up in the new account because those transactions were never generated under the new one, unless the funds from the old account are manually transferred to the new account.

As a workaround. you can link the new account and manually import the data from the cancelled account into QuickBooks (QB).
That said, I recommend consulting with an accountant to confirm if this approach is appropriate, as it may result in discrepancies since the transactions didn’t originate from the new account.

Here’s how to connect your new credit card account:

  1. Go to MyApps, then choose Accounting.
  2. Select Bank Transactions. click Link account.
  3. Pick your bank from the list, or search for your bank by URL or name.
  4. Sign in with your online banking credentials and follow any required security steps.
  5. Click Credit Card, then assign a custom name to the account if necessary.
  6. Choose the date you want to begin importing transactions.
(Banks may provide historical data ranging from 90 days to 24 months.)
  7. Select Connect, then Done.

To import the data manually, simply click the Gear icon, and select Import data under the Tools column.

Another option is to disconnect the old account and reconnect the new account using the same details as the canceled card. This will merge transactions from the old account with any categorized transactions from the new account in the bank register.
