Hello there, Ljm317. Let's go through the steps to bring in your transactions to QuickBooks.
Before doing so, may i know if the cancelled account is a parent account or sub-account ? Please note that that we can only connect either one of these.
If the new credit card is for a different account, we can connect it on the banking page. However, the transactions from the old (cancelled) account won't show up in the new account because those transactions were never generated under the new one, unless the funds from the old account are manually transferred to the new account.
As a workaround. you can link the new account and manually import the data from the cancelled account into QuickBooks (QB).
That said, I recommend consulting with an accountant to confirm if this approach is appropriate, as it may result in discrepancies since the transactions didn’t originate from the new account.
Here’s how to connect your new credit card account:
To import the data manually, simply click the Gear icon, and select Import data under the Tools column.
Another option is to disconnect the old account and reconnect the new account using the same details as the canceled card. This will merge transactions from the old account with any categorized transactions from the new account in the bank register.
