Can you delete a company you no longer need?

Hi there, fernando4,

You can cancel your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account. After a year, we'll delete your data. Hence, you won't have access to your company file. Let me show you how:

  1. Go to Settings ,  then Company Settings.
  2. Proceed to the Billing and subscription tab.
  3. In the QuickBooks section, select Cancel subscription or Cancel online.
  4. Select Continue to cancel, then click the Continue to cancel button (if it shows on your screen).
  5. Follow the next steps.
  6. Click Submit and cancel subscription, then Got it.

If your account is less than 60 days, you can delete the data on your file. If not, you'll have to cancel it. The following steps shown below will guide you through:

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Online
  2. Look at the URL in your browser's address bar. Delete all the text after the last / and enter purgecompany.
    For example:
    • From: https://...qbo.intuit.com/app/homepage
    • To: https://...qbo.intuit.com/app/purgecompany
  3. To confirm you want to delete your company data, type Yes.
  4. Select Wipe data.

I've added these resources for additional information:

On the other hand, you can also send a request to delete your information in QBO. This includes personal data you've shared with Intuit. Once deleted, we won’t be able to get it back for you.

Let me show you how:

  1. Go to accounts.intuit.com.
  2. Enter your QBO login credentials.
  3. Click Data & Privacy from the left navigation bar.
  4. Select Continue next to Delete or Download.

  5. Follow on-screen instructions.

Should you need anything else, please let me know. I'm just right here always ready to help.
