Error 185 indicates that your bank needs additional information after you enter your login credentials. This implies that your financial institution has implemented extra security measures, such as a security question or a one-time passcode, which you need to provide in order to proceed.
With this, make sure to enter your correct login credentials to avoid issues with email verification.
In addition, if your bank prompts you with a security question, you'll have to respond to it. You'll see this error again the next time you update if you have multiple security questions.
As you enter your answers, QuickBooks Online remembers the security questions and responses you've provided. If your bank asks for an OTP, you'll receive this code (on a device, through text, call, etc.) and enter it each time you encounter Error 185.
If you don't see the security questions, check another browser or disable your browser's pop-up blocker.
