How to print using receipt printer?

Hello there  @Advance Accounting. Thanks for getting back to the thread.

I appreciate you for dropping by here to know possible alternatives or the recommended apps for printing receipts with thermal 80mm printers. However, the Community team is unable to suggest a specific one. It's because each app has unique features and benefits.

Nonetheless, you may integrate some applications with QuickBooks Online that allow you to print using thermal printers.

I also suggest visiting this link to help you find the right apps for your business: QuickBooks App Store.

How to print using receipt printer?

That is absolutely unacceptable. Do you think otherwise? How hard is it to either have a template or allow users to adjust the paper size. I bought this software today, if you know you can't address issues that have been around for over a year, tell users upfront so they aren't wasting time an money. I can't imagine how this is even an issue.

How to print using receipt printer?

This is my exact sentiment. I'm getting another software to leave the company because they think they can hold customers hostage. How does it makes sense I can do this on the desktop but can't on the online version??? A simple thing as printing a a dam receipt!!!! It's madness!!! Forcing me to go and buy apps that they won't even tell us. I have been searching for months and can't find an app to print with. It cost me soooooooo much to print item that value less than the paper and ink. It's madness!!! I moving from intuit. They Dont respect my $36 perm month..... Kmdt

How to print using receipt printer?

Thanks for getting back with more information, @Pawnshack.

QuickBooks Online made it possible for the application to remind you if you no longer have stocks for particular inventories. This option allows you to reorder more if you’re running out of stock. There are various ways we can do that.

You can add the re-order point during the product setup. Otherwise, you can edit this to add the option:

  1. Go to the Sales menu and select Products & Services.
  2. Look for the item where you want to add this option.
  3. Tap the Edit button in the Action column and add the threshold when you should reorder more in the Reorder point field.
  4. Select Save and close.

You can check out this article for more guidelines: Get alerts for low or out of stock products.

Regarding the cash and bank transfers, you are referring to mobile banking. Are you referring to the mobile check deposit with QuickBooks Checking? If so, this option is not yet available for your region. This offer is only available for QBO United States (US) versions. That said, you can utilize a third-party application to do so.

Concerning the availability to print from Point of Sale (POS) thermal printers. You can utilize a third-party app since QBO is a different platform that functions independently.

Lastly, about adding itemize items when printing a bill and longer the text boxes. I suggest you send these suggestions directly to our product engineers. It is to let our development team know the features that business owners demand. To do so, go to the Gear icon and select Feedback.

Feel free to add a reply if you have more concerns with QuickBooks-related matters. The Community always has your back. Stay safe!

They have a POS system for this. The QBO is not meant for this option.

How to print using receipt printer?

Javier,  This silly forum no longer supports private messaging a user, so it's rather impossible for me to "email you" to learn how you solved this problem.  We have a thermal printer (much like what you see in Home Depot, Target, Walmart, etc) and it worked flawlessly in Quickbooks Desktop.  Now that we've converted to Quickbooks Online it will no longer print out receipt.. I remember we have to customize a template in Desktop to make everything right, but I don't see the same configuration options in Online...

How can you send me your solution?  I'd hate to post my email address here to have it scraped to high heaven...

Thanks in advance..

How to print using receipt printer?

Hello there, @7evenseas.

I'm joining this thread to provide additional information on your query about how to print using a receipt printer to be sent to your email address.

Here on QuickBooks Online Community, we can provide you with how to print receipts. Also, we don't have access to send you an email with instructions on how to print it. You can follow the instructions found on the community post.

You can adjust the paper size by following these steps to make sure your sales forms are printed correctly:

For printing in Google Chrome:

  1. Select Sales from the sidebar menu and click on the All Sales tab. Open the transaction you need to print.
  2. Choose Print or Preview and Pick Print or Preview again.
  3. Click Print and then choose More Settings. From the Paper size drop-down menu, choose Letter.
  4. Set the scaling to 100 and uncheck the Fit to page. Click Print when you're done.

For Safari or Mozilla Firefox:

  1. From the sidebar menu, go to the All Sales tab. Open the document you want to print.
  2. Choose Print or Preview, and then choose Print or View again. Click Print. Select Actual size.
  3. Choose a Paper source by PDF page size.
  4. Set the orientation to Auto portrait/landscapePrint to finish the process.

In addition, learn how to personalize and add specific info to your sales forms: Customise invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.

If you still have other questions regarding how to print a receipt, feel welcome to add a reply below. I'll be glad to answer them for you.
