Permanently removing Product/service

Hi there, Moraira Build.

I'd like to share the possible reasons why the inactive items are still showing on the lists.

We're unable to totally delete the items you've made within QuickBooks. What you did is the right way to eliminate them from the Product and Services lists or when creating a transaction. Once the items are deactivated, they'll appear in the list with (deleted) next to its name. We'll be able to see it when we set the All status in the Product and Services tab.

Normally, inactive items would not be included on the lists when creating an estimate. In your case, I would recommend clicking the Reload icon or press CTRL F5 to refresh QuickBooks. It could be that QuickBooks is not performing properly due to having too much data in our browser.

If the same thing happens, we can try logging in to an incognito window. This mode doesn't store cache, which helps the software to work well. Below the lists of shortcut keys, depending on what browser you're using.

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

Create an estimate one more time and let's see if the inactive items are not showing. If everything goes well, we can go back to our main browser and clear the cache. This is to start your data fresh. It also makes QuickBooks work efficiently.

Also, you can use other supported browsers like Mozilla, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Safari. For Safari, make sure to use the latest one.
