Quickbooks Subscription Discount

My clients free trial ended, without a payment being added. Now when he tries to re-subscribe, it isn't applying the 30% discount. How am I able to get him this discount back?

Happy to have you here today in the Community space, @jal529.

You can add your clients to your QuickBooks Online Accountant (QBOA) account. This way, you'll be able to give them discounted plan and help them explore QuickBooks. I'll input the steps below to get you going. Here's how:

  1. Ask your client to send the invite to the email address you use for your QuickBooks Online Accountant firm.
  2. Open the invite email and select the Accept Invitation link.
  3. Sign in with your user ID and password.
  4. If you have multiple QuickBooks Online Accounting firms, select the one you want to connect your client to.

For further guidelines, feel free to check this article: Add clients to QuickBooks Online Accountant.

In addition, I've got you this handy article if you wish to learn more about discounts for ProAdvisor in QBO: Manage your QuickBooks Online Accountant pricing plan and discount.

I'm rooting for your success on this, @jal529. I'll be here if you have any additional QuickBooks-related concerns. Take care, and have a nice day!

Thanks for the response, but I had already done these steps, and the client went through their free trial and at the end of the trial, the membership auto-cancelled. When the client went to resubscribe, the membership did not include the discount, is there a way to get the discount put back on their account?

Thanks for keeping us updated, @jal529. I'll route you to the right support who can help you further.

As Community is a public forum, we're unable to access account information on our end. I suggest contacting our Customer Support team. This enables them to access your account details in a safer environment. This also makes it possible for them to check whether the discounts your client's discounts can still be applied to their QuickBooks Online account.

Here's how to reach support:

  1. Log in to your QBO company.
  2. Click on Help (?).
  3. Choose either tab to start:
  • Assistant: Get fast, customized responses. Choose a suggested option, or type a question or topic you need help with. If you need more help, click on Talk to a human.
  • Search: Search the QBO knowledge base directly, or hit Contact Us and select a way to connect with us:
    • Start a chat
    • Get a callback

Please note the support hours to make sure agents are available to assist.

I'll also include this useful module about handling subscriptions: Manage billing, payment, and subscription info in QuickBooks Online.

You can always post back if you need anything else in managing your account or QuickBooks. We're to back you up. Keep safe.

I'm not sure why they don't have the courage to admit it boldly here. The discounted rate applies only when singing up for your account for the first time. You can migrate data manually with a 3rd party tool if required.
